Hi Matt its called capitilism. We have formed a Plataforma Contra and are working hard to stop it. We still have no word from the mayor of Casarabonela who has the final say on the opening .Look at http://www.iberianatureforum Environmental issues Destruction of a paradise .I post all relevant information there as and when available.Post a comment If you can mobilise any friends get them to e mail the tourist office in casarbonela ask why they are destroying this wonderful place Also the Sierra de las Nieves, Also Unesco Mab .We are trying like hell to stop this but many do not seem to care

Thanks David, what’s the story on the sand/gravel quarry? Why have they chosen that location? Are there alternatives for whoever feels they need it? What’s the strategy to stop it?

Hi just spotted your photos & article.Thanks. I can see the Sierras from my roof terrace in my new home in COIN.I have only spent 1 month there but hope to move permanently soon. I look at them whilst having breakfast and spend the rest of the day wishing I could get up there someday!!! Currently back in Cornwall clearing up affairs before rushing back to Coin.

Hi Matt yes it is a wonderful area i live in the campo nearby.I dont know if you are aware there is the possibility of a sand/gravel quarry being opened in the area of Alcaparain. look at http://www.iberianatureforum.com Environmental issues, Destruction of a paradise hope you can support us to stop it?
