Hardware Design & Prototyping
Hardware · Intern · chennai, india
we make digital products better, simpler & more human. small, flat team. no layers, no hand-offs. you own what you ship.
you’ll turn sketches into physical prototypes people can pick up & use.
about the role
we’re looking for a hardware design intern to model & prototype enclosures & product concepts.
you’ll move quickly from idea to CAD to a printed, assembled, tested part.
what you’ll do
- CAD: model parts & enclosures with manufacturing in mind
- Prototyping: 3D print, assemble, & iterate on physical builds
- Fit & finish: refine tolerances, ergonomics, & materials
- Electronics integration: fit boards, batteries, & sensors cleanly
- Collaboration: work with embedded & design to ship working prototypes
what you bring
- Strong fundamentals: CAD in Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar, plus form, ergonomics, & design for assembly
- Hands-on projects: physical things you designed, printed, or built, with photos or renders
- Problem-solving: you take a failed print or bad fit to a better v2, & can explain what changed
- AI in your workflow: you use it for concepts & references, then check dimensions & tolerances yourself
- Independent thinking: you prototype fast, test it for real, & decide what to fix next
- Proof over paper: no degree or certificates needed. we care about what you’ve built & how you think
nice to have
- Experience with laser cutting, CNC, or injection moulding basics
- Rendering skills in KeyShot or Blender
- Basic electronics knowledge
